Losing your extra weight goes a long way towards a healthy heart.

A new study showed that weight loss increased the elasticity of the heart. It also showed that there was no significant difference in wether that weight loss was achieved by exercise, diet or a combination of both. Weight loss seemed to restore some of the heart's elasticity, enabling the heart to relax between contractions and refill with blood easier.

Even though the main goal is to lose weight, experts still agree that a balanced lifestyle of diet and exercise benefits you in the whole.
